These scrunchies are made from the softest, most beautiful silk we think you’ll have seen. In a range of gorgeous colours, from neutral grey to go with everything or sunshine yellow for a pop of colour.

Silk scrunchies are brilliant for avoiding hair creasing and reducing breakages – all while looking amazing.

Nimboo is the brand behind these silk scrunchies and they work with rural and under privileged women across India to produce them, using GOTS certified organic peace silk (silk sourced after the silkworms have left their nest). The beautiful colours are achieved by using the discarded flowers from temple ceremonies, flowers like marigolds, hibiscus and rose.

Handmade, heart made

When Nimboo’s founder, Indian born Saurabh Mahajan, made Paris his home he was inspired by the celebration of the everyday – in food, culture, wine and architecture. However, his strongest influence in life came from his grandparents, who’s humble journey as farmers in Northern Punjab saw them making the most of meagre resources,  re-using what they could and taking lessons from nature. Saurabh celebrates these values and Nimboo support Indian communities who produce their beautiful textiles, using waste temple flowers to naturally dye fabrics, recycling sarees and only weaving organic fabrics to create luxury items that hold true to the values that are so important to them.

Guided by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s – read more about them here) Nimboo works hard to create a business that is good for people and planet.

Supporting women, in particular, is core to Nimboo and they support local maker communities across India. They partner with expert organisations, such as Sasha, Women Weave and others to offer sustainable employment opportunities to rural and disadvantaged women across India. Working with these talented craftswomen, Nimboo can create the beautiful products you see here – while empowering communities, providing better working environments and incomes.

Transparency is key for Nimboo, and they provide full details of their supply chain, encouraging questions and discussion. Their partnership with 1% For The Planet ensures that at least 1% of all revenue is given back to social and environmental causes.
